Este año FICMA ha organizado un ciclo de conferencias, mesas redondas y talleres donde se analizará el uso e impacto de la tecnología en el cine, arte, sociedad e industrias creativas.
Talleres como el de maquetas de realidad virtual, filmación de contenidos con teléfonos celulares, confencias sobre producción, realización y distribución de películas con medios alternativos, realidad virtual como transformador social, así como aplicaciones de contenidos RV Y RA.

En esta tercera edición inauguramos una nueva sección especial para cortos con contenidos 360°, de realidad virtual y realidad aumentada, la categoría de Cortometraje Universitario donde los estudiantes mexicanos de escuelas y universidades exclusivamente puedan inscribir sus trabajos , así como las categorías Largometraje y Cortometraje de Ficción, Largometraje y Cortometraje Documental, Cortometraje Experimental, Corto de Animación, y Cortometraje Mexicano de Ficción y Documental.
